Hail Damage Repair in Norwalk

Hail rarely leaves a dramatic hole. It bruises shingles, cracks tile and strips away the granules that shield your roof from sun. We find that damage, show it to you in photos, repair it with matched materials and check back once the work has been through some weather.

When Hail Repair Is the Right Call

Hail is uncommon here, but the cold winter storms that do bring it can leave a roof looking fine from the driveway while the damage sits up close. A pea-sized stone hitting an older asphalt shingle can crush the mat underneath and knock loose the granules. That spot ages faster, then cracks, and the leak may not show up until a rain months later.

Repair is the sensible choice when the hits are scattered and the roof around them still has good years left. When strikes cover most slopes, or the shingles were worn thin before the storm ever arrived, patching turns into paying twice. We say that plainly and walk you through roof replacement as the alternative, and you decide with the photos in front of you.

What Our Hail Repair Covers

A close inspection, slope by slope
We walk the roof and mark each strike we find with chalk so it shows clearly in photos. Soft metals like vent caps and gutter edges tell us the size and direction of the hail, which helps us know where to look on the shingles or tile.
Shingle replacement with matched materials
Bruised or cracked asphalt shingles are lifted out and replaced one by one, with new nails set at the right line. We match color and profile as closely as the market allows and tell you up front if a close match is not available.
Cracked and chipped tile
A direct hit can split a clay or concrete tile while the pieces around it stay whole. We lift out the broken ones, look over the felt or synthetic layer below for tears and punctures, and set replacements that lock into the course properly.
Vents, flashing and gutters
Dented roof vents, bent flashing and creased gutters get repaired or replaced so they seal and drain the way they should. A dented gutter can hold water and pull loose over time.
Support through the claim
If you file with your insurer, we coordinate with the claim directly from the first visit. You receive dated photos and a written scope, and we are glad to stand on the roof alongside the adjuster. Whether the damage is covered remains your insurer's call.

What Hail Tends to Leave Behind

  • A sudden drift of grit at the downspouts

An aging roof sheds a little granule dust over time. A heavy wash of dark sand right after a storm points to stones knocking the coating off your shingles.

  • Fresh dings in soft metal around the yard

Look at mailbox tops, patio covers, gutter lips and the thin fins on your outdoor condenser. Stones that marked those at ground level were landing on the roof as well.

  • Dark spots or shiny patches on shingles

Where granules are gone, the black mat shows through. These spots fade unevenly in the sun and are where cracking starts.

  • Broken tile pieces on the ground

Fragments in the yard or on a patio cover mean a tile up top has cracked, even if the gap is hard to see from below.

  • A new stain on a ceiling after the next rain

A bruised shingle can hold for weeks before it lets water through. If a stain appears after a storm, our roof leak repair work can trace it back to the source.

How a Hail Repair Job Runs

  1. 1

    Free inspection and photos

We go up, mark the damage and photograph it. You see what we saw, slope by slope, before any decision is made.

  2. 2

    Itemized estimate on paper

Each repair and the materials it calls for are set out line by line in a free written estimate. If you are filing a claim, your adjuster can work from that same document.

  3. 3

    Repair day

We cover plants and walkways, replace damaged shingles or tile, reseal flashing and straighten or replace metal parts. Loose nails and old pieces are picked up and the yard is swept with a magnet before we leave.

  4. 4

    Walkthrough and care notes

We show you the finished work and explain what to watch for, like granules in the downspouts or a tile that shifts. Keeping the gutters clear and staying off tile slopes goes a long way.

  5. 5

    We check back

After the repair has seen some rain, we contact you to make sure everything is holding. If something needs a second look, we come out and take care of it.

Where the Price of Hail Repair Comes From

We price hail work from the damage we actually find, never from a set figure. The written estimate breaks out every item so the cost is easy to follow. Service Finance Company offers financing, subject to credit approval.

How widely the hail hit
Strikes on a single slope usually mean a short day. If every face of the roof took hits, labor and material go up, and replacement may come into the discussion.
What the roof is made of
Asphalt shingles swap out faster than tile, which must be eased out around the broken piece. Flat sections take a separate patching method.
Finding matching pieces
A discontinued shingle color or tile profile means more searching for the nearest match. If that affects the price, you will hear about it at the estimate.
Vents, flashing and gutters
Dented vents, flashing or gutter sections raise the total when they need replacing. Some can be straightened instead, and we tell you which.

Questions About Hail Damage

Something not covered here? (562) 262-8868

From the yard my roof looks okay. Is a check still worth it?

If the hail was strong enough to dent metal or leave granules in your gutters, yes. Bruises rarely show from the ground. The inspection is free and you get photos whatever we find.

Does insurance cover hail repair?

That is up to your policy and your insurer, not us. Our part is to record the damage clearly, write up the scope of work and join the adjuster on the roof so nothing is overlooked.

What happens if my shingle color or tile is discontinued?

We check with suppliers for the closest piece and bring samples you can compare against your roof before anything goes up. New material often blends in as it weathers. If the difference would stay obvious, we say so and you decide how to go ahead.

How long will the repair take?

Shingle repairs usually wrap up in one day. Tile and bigger jobs may take more time, and your estimate includes the timeline we expect.

How is hail repair different from storm damage repair?

Hail leaves a distinct mix of bruises, cracks and dents, so we look for it on purpose. Lifted or missing shingles from wind are handled as storm damage repair, and plenty of storms cause both.
